Neighboring Community Center "KOMOREBI" (2005)
Municipal neighborhood community center,
designed with citizen participated workshops.
The site , next to Abiko Golf Club, is former villa of KONOE FUMIMARO, known as a prime minister before World War II.
A major challenge was to make most of perfect
environment surrounded by rich greenery at
the edge of urban area.
The design concept is "A villa for everyone,"
and "Integration with the environment".
Outer walls are covered with solid wooden
board like wooden villa.
The lounge, facing widely toward greenery
on the east, is a place of relaxation for
citizens.
